2024 GSS International Short Track Development Winter Camp, December 26-30, 2024
The 2024 GSS International ST Development Winter Camp will be held at Richar J. Codey Arena, West Orange, NJ on December 26-30, 2024.
The camp will be led by Olympic gold medalist and GSS skating program director Linlin Sun, US Olympian and GSS head coach Tony Goskowicz, and additional coaching guests!
Linlin Sun is the founding coach for GSS and started the GSS International ST camp in the summer of 2014. Over the last ten years, she has devoted her time coaching and developing short track programs both in the US and in China. Linlin’s previous roles included Chinese national ST team leader, USS ST program director, US national, and Jr World and Olympic team coach. Linlin now focuses on the grassroot development for the sport, spending time in Utah and New Jersey, continuing driving the GSS ST program in the NJ/NY metro area.
Tony Goskowicz was US National Short Track Champion in 1996 and 500m gold medalist in 1995 Jr World ST Championships. He coached the US national team from 2001-2005 and led several development programs both at Pettit National Ice Center and at the US Olympic Education Center in Colorado between 2005-2012. Tony has been GSS Head Coach since 2021.
The week-long training programs will incorporate the latest instruction in short track technique and racing. It is designed for all skaters, age 5 to adult, nascent to elite; all areas of skating, from skills to stamina, will be in focus, further developing each skater’s ability for the racing season. Come train with aspiring speed skating athletes from both the US and overseas, all under the instruction of the GSS world class camp coaching team.

GSS International Short Track Camps – Winter 2019 had been successfully completed at Bridgewater Sports Arena, New Jersey from December 27 – 30, 2019.
The Garden State International Short Track Camps always make an effort to bring in the best of the best and we are thrilled to offer another amazing opportunity for all athletes to train with your current and future competitors from both US and overseas, all under GSS world class camp coaching team.
Camp coaches:
Feng Kai – 1998 & 2002 two times Olympic medalist, 1998 World Championships 500m gold medalist. He has set men’s world record in both 500m and 1500m during his outstanding athletic career. As a coach, Feng Kai has led the Chinese Men’s National Short Track Team, the Chinese National Short Track Team, and Chinese National Youth Short Track Team for more than a decade. He has trained many world class athletes including world champions and Olympic champions.
Yang Fei – Former Chinese national short track team member and World Cup medalist. After retiring from competition in 2015, Yang Fei coached a youth club and Henan provincial team in China before joining GSS as the head coach in 2019. He brings in a firsthand experience of developing junior and juvenile athletes in short track speed skating.
Rafal Kazanecki – Strength & Conditioning Coach: Fitness Director, Personal Trainer at The Gym Maplewood, New Jersey. Formerly coaching consultant for pro volleyball teams in Poland, Rafal has spent the last ten years working as a strength coach for basketball and volleyball players in the U.S.
2019 GSS International Short Track Development Camps have been successfully completed at Bridgewater Sports Arena, New Jersey from July 31 – August 18, 2019.
The three-week training programs (July 31 –Aug 4; Aug 7 – 11; Aug 14-18) incorporated the latest instruction in short track technique and racing. Many Skaters from various states in the US and overseas came to train with GSS local skaters under GSS’s world class camp coaching team.
The Garden State International Short Track Camps held its 9th camp during the holiday break from December 27-30, 2018. GSS Head Coach Tianyu Fu and Coach Tony Liu, working with special guest Coach Feng Kai, led over thirty skaters from the Bay State Speedskating Club, Connecticut Speedskating Club, Saratoga Winter Club and from the NY/NJ/PA metro area. The camp focused on systematically adapting the short track techniques and maximizing those skills in racing. Additional emphasis on strength, endurance and technique were done off ice at the Bridgewater Sports Arena’s massive indoor training facility.
The highlight of this season’s winter camp was special guest coach Feng Kai from China. Feng Kai is a 1998 & 2002 Olympic medalist, World Champion, and former world record holder in Men’s 500m and 1500m! As a coach, Feng Kai has led the Chinese Men’s National Short Track Team, the Chinese National Short Track Team, and the highly decorated Chinese National Youth Team since 2004. He has trained many world class athletes including Olympic and World Champions.

GSS held its 6th International Short Track Camp (4th summer camp) at the William G. Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown, New Jersey on July 19th – 23rd. The camp featured a star-studded cast of coaches, including GSS Head Coach, World Champion, and two-time Olympian Tianyu Fu, five time Olympic medalist Yang Yang, and Stephen Gough , the Olympic & national team coach for both Canada(2010) and USA(2014)! The highly anticipated Garden State Speedskating Short Track Camps – Winter 2015 returns to Codey Arena on December 27–29, 2015.
The camp will be led by GSS Head Coach Tianyu and her distinguished coaching guest. All skaters are welcome to participate. All areas of skating, from skills to stamina will be in focus, further developing each skater’s ability for the racing season.

The most popular Sun Linlin speedskating summer camp will be held July 6 – 10, 2015 at Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown, NJ.
A full week of training is planned for all skaters, ages 7 to adult, nascent to elite, who are wanting to take advantage of the off season to hone their skills and increase their stamina. The camp requires skaters be able to perform basic cross overs. It also requires to have valid US Speedskating membership – which can be done using a 2-month temporary membership that costs $10.
Once again, four times Olympic gold medalist Meng Wang will be Linlin’s special coaching guest in the summer camp.
